♕ 2015 US Junior Girls' Invitational Championship ♕
In the summer of 2014, Alex Relya & Nita Patel organized a national event called the US Junior Girls' Invitational Closed Championship. This year, this same tournament was organized sponsored & directed by Frank Berry in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 2014 WCC Champion, Carissa Yip competed in both of these events.
This year's event will be a qualifier for the World U-20 Girls' Championship as well as for the 2016 U.S. Women's Championship, plus $10,000 guaranteed cash prizes of $3000 - 2000 - 1500 - 500 - 500 - 500 - 500 - 500 - 500 - 500.
Coming into this tournament, Ashritha Eswaran had the lowest rating of the ten contestants. By Friday evening, she had won clear first prize with a score of 6.5 out of nine rounds, a full point over her nearest rival, Annie Wang, as reported on Chess-Results.con.
